Indusfood is a food and beverage export trade event held by TPCI (Trade Promotion Council of India) with support from India's Ministry of Commerce. Indian suppliers exhibit and buyers from around the world come to purchase, so the direction of the buyer meetings is the reverse of a trade show in Japan.<\/p>\n\n

What kind of trade show it is<\/h2>\n

The show started as a trade event for those buying food from India. The exhibitors are mainly Indian food manufacturers and exporters, and the organizer says it invites buyers from more than 120 countries. It has taken the form of an international show that also includes exhibitors from overseas suppliers. Categories in which India is strong as an exporter, such as spices, rice, pulses, dried fruit, seasonings, and frozen foods, are heavily represented.<\/p>\n

Indusfood Manufacturing takes place in the same week, covering food production equipment and packaging machinery. Its venue, however, is Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, away from the main show in Greater Noida. If you want to see both, set aside time for the travel.<\/p>\n\n

What Japanese companies can do here<\/h2>\n

For food manufacturers and trading companies that want to source ingredients from India, it is an opportunity to compare the supply side in one place. You can meet several growing regions and several exporters for the same item, so you can line up not only prices but also how far each one meets specifications for Japan and what pesticide residue testing it has in place.<\/p>\n

For the side that wants to sell into India, it remains a place where people involved in Indian food distribution gather. The axis of the meetings is on the export side, though, so if you want to sell to retail or HoReCa inside India, AAHAR and Anuga Select India put you closer to those counterparts.<\/p>\n\n

What to check before exhibiting or visiting<\/h2>\n

The India Expo Centre & Mart venue is in Greater Noida, more than an hour by car from central New Delhi. Staying in Noida or Greater Noida shortens the trip to the venue.<\/p>\n

The buyer invitation program the organizer runs has an advance registration deadline. Whether you take an invited place changes how much freedom you have with the schedule, so it is a point to check before arranging travel.<\/p>\n\n
