Why biryani is hard to run as a chain<\/h2>\n

Biryani ranks near the top of the dishes ordered for delivery in India, yet specialist chains rarely grow. Layering rice and meat and cooking them through takes time, and the result varies easily from one outlet to the next. Well-known shops exist in every region, but they seldom turn into national brands.<\/p>\n

Since it was founded in 2013, the company has expanded its outlets mainly in north India. It has broken the cooking process into steps to reduce the work done at the outlet, with the main aim of delivering the same quality both for delivery and in the dining room.<\/p>\n

Rebel Foods invested, and money has kept coming in since<\/h2>\n

It raised 2 million dollars from Carpediem Capital in 2016 to 17 and 5 million dollars from the cloud kitchen group Rebel Foods in the year ended March 2022. In May 2025 it gathered 5 million dollars in a pre-Series C led by Yugadi Capital, a new fund from the Carpediem stable.<\/p>\n

The valuation at that point was about 30 million dollars, roughly three times its revenue scale for the year ended March 2025 (an annualized run rate of around \u20b9100 crore). That is a modest multiple for a fast-growing company, which shows it is being valued as a restaurant chain.<\/p>\n

Recent developments<\/h2>\n

As of May 2025 it had 68 outlets and more than 200,000 orders a month. It says the money raised will go toward adding more than 100 outlets in north India over the next three years and toward strengthening logistics and staffing. It has set out a policy of sticking to Delhi NCR and the north and concentrating on areas where a new outlet turns profitable within three months.<\/p>\n
