Google has made a new feature called "Preferred Sources" available in Japanese, letting users themselves choose the media outlets and sites they want prioritized in the "Top Stories" section of the search screen. Normally, Top Stories results are determined by Google's own algorithm. But once this feature is turned on, articles from the media outlets and sites a user has pre-registered will appear preferentially.
The feature had previously been available only to English-speaking users, but its availability has now been expanded to other languages, including Japanese.
