Built around batter for idli and dosa, the range has widened to parotta, chapati, paneer, and liquid filter coffee concentrate. All of them are put together on the premise of using no preservatives, so temperature control from production to the store shelf and fast turnover are the substance of the business itself.
The five founders are cousins, and they come from Wayanad in Kerala. They started in 2005 from a shop of about 50 square feet in Bengaluru with ₹50,000 in capital.
Revenue for FY2025 (fiscal year ending March 2025) was ₹688.2 crore, up 22.3% year on year. Cumulative funding is put at around 100 million dollars (the figure differs depending on the source). In addition to the Indian market, it ships to the Middle East, the UK, and the US.
It is a precedent for distributing refrigerated food without preservatives in India. For Japanese makers of prepared foods and chilled noodles entering India, it bears directly on the decision of how short to set the shelf life and compete on turnover.
