British luxury beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury opened its first flagship boutique in India on April 9, 2026, at Nexus Select Citywalk in the Saket district of New Delhi. A store at Noida's Mall of India is also planned for May 2026, part of a strategy to advance full-scale entry into the Indian market in stages.
India's leading beauty retailer Nykaa handles everything from store operations, staffing, and merchandising to supply chain and omnichannel integration. The two companies already have a six-year relationship, and sales will also expand across Nykaa's network of 57 stores and its digital platform. Nykaa currently has 42 million beauty consumers, and its purchasing data is expected to help optimize the product lineup.
The New Delhi flagship incorporates experience elements specific to the Indian market, including a boudoir area featuring a "Royal Indian Arch," a wall dedicated to bridal looks, and an interactive "Pillow Talk Photo Wall." It also offers makeup artistry services and masterclasses by professional artists.
Bollywood actress Sobhita Dhulipala was named brand ambassador and appeared at the flagship opening as the brand's first beauty muse in India.
Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury brand under Puig, and its expansion has centered on major Western channels such as Sephora and Harrods. In India, its distinguishing feature is leveraging Nykaa's existing strong distribution base to secure reach into the premium market without heavy investment in its own dedicated channel.
India's beauty market is a fast-growing category projected to reach $29 billion by 2030 (Redseer estimate). Charlotte Tilbury's entry will further intensify competition with Estée Lauder, L'Oréal, and Dior, which have already established a presence.
For Nykaa too, O2O partnerships with international brands are central to its own omnichannel strategy, and Charlotte Tilbury complements the "international x high price point" segment, distinct from domestic D2C brands such as Koskii and Libas. It stands as a typical example of a foreign brand choosing an ecosystem-based rollout with a leading partner to capture the Indian market.
