The Coffee House was once one of the fastest-growing cafe chains in Vietnam, but business difficulties after the pandemic shrank its store count from 150 to 93. In January 2025, Golden Gate, Vietnam's largest restaurant group, acquired a 99.98% stake for VND 270 billion (about USD 10.5 million). That is a steep markdown from the valuation of more than USD 50 million it carried in 2021. A turnaround is under way, centered on 51 stores in Ho Chi Minh City and 31 in Hanoi, drawing on Golden Gate's restaurant know-how and financial base.
