Entobel manufactures insect protein using the black soldier fly (BSF), with the largest production facility in Asia located in southern Vietnam. Using a 50-tier vertical farming system, robotics and advanced sensors and data analytics, it has annual capacity of 10,000 tons of protein meal. The facility was built in an industry record 12 months. With Vinh Hoan it signed a contract to supply 15,000 tons of insect protein a year from 2025 to 2027, and with HEINEKEN Vietnam it built a circular ecosystem that upcycles brewing byproducts. It chose Vietnam for three reasons: a tropical climate suited to BSF, the country being one of the world's leading aquaculture bases, and a stable supply of high-quality feed ingredients.
