Indian households have a strong habit of making dahi at home. Epigamia brought Greek yogurt in as a separate category and sold it as a snack in small flavored portions.
Beyond yogurt, it has extended into smoothies, plant-based drinks, and ice cream.
In December 2024 co-founder and CEO Rohan Mirchandani died suddenly at 41, and co-founder Ankur Goel and others led the business on an interim basis. In 2026 Ritesh Gauba, who had worked at Pladis, Mars, and Britannia, became CEO, and Goel took the role of Co-Founder and COO. The company says FY2026 brought growth of more than 50% along with better margins. The published full-year figures go only as far as ₹172.0 crore for FY2023 and about ₹180 crore for FY2024, with no confirmed numbers disclosed after that.
When a Japanese dairy company sells yogurt in India, the approach differs depending on whether it goes on the same shelf as existing dahi or creates a separate shelf as a snack. Epigamia is an example of taking the latter route and making it stick.
