The Indian chain that sells bubble tea and Korean-style street food Boba Bhai has opened its 100th store in Gurugram (Whiteland Urban Cubes, Sector 71). Achieving this in only two and a half years since founding, net revenue for FY26 (fiscal 2026) grew from about INR 280 million (INR 28 crore) the previous year to about INR 700 million (INR 70 crore, about 1.2 billion yen), up 145%.
The 100th store opened on June 1, 2026. A menu combining bubble tea with Korean-style snacks, layered with Indian-style flavors (desi flavors), captured younger consumers. The company recorded same-store sales growth of roughly 30-40% year-on-year in FY26, meaning revenue per store, not just new store openings, has also been rising.
The revenue breakdown is roughly evenly split, with beverages such as bubble tea accounting for about half and Korean food the other half. It is a structure that draws customers in with impulse purchases of a single drink, while food reinforces spend per customer and reasons to visit. Going forward, the company plans to push both online and offline, aiming for more than INR 1 billion (INR 100 crore, about 1.7 billion yen) in ARR (annual recurring revenue).
In India's youth market, Korean culture and bubble tea are strong tailwinds. Boba Bhai built two pillars, "beverages create the entry point, food adds staying value," at a 50:50 ratio, and achieved rapid scale through localization tuned to local taste. If a Japanese beverage or dessert format is targeting India, the localization of flavor and the design of menu-mix ratios offer a useful reference.
