Licious is a D2C brand that sources chicken, mutton, and seafood itself and delivers them over its own network. Fresh meat in India is still dominated by independent butchers, and bringing temperature control and packaging into that market is what won it support.

It is an integrated model that keeps sourcing, processing, storage, and delivery in house, with a setup that never breaks the cold chain before the product reaches the customer. Variation in quality easily makes buyers hesitate over fresh meat, and removing that hesitation became the foundation of the brand.
In addition to cuts of chicken, mutton, and seafood, it has widened its range to prepped Ready-to-Cook items, spices, and snacks.
Operating revenue for FY2025 (fiscal year ending March 2025) was ₹795 crore, up 16% from ₹685 crore the previous year. In FY2024, revenue had fallen from the year before as the company reviewed its business, so growth has not been a straight line. Cumulative funding has reached about 554.22 million dollars, but the most recent round stopped in March 2022.
It offers a basis for thinking about how much logistics you need to own yourself when selling chilled and frozen food in India. Unlike countries where outsourcing is enough, the choice of third-party logistics able to hold a temperature range is limited, so Licious decided to carry it in house.
