Marou Chocolate is Vietnam's first bean-to-bar chocolate maker, founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2011 by French entrepreneurs Samuel Maruta and Vincent Mourou. Using 100% Vietnamese ingredients sourced from cacao-growing areas in seven provinces, it makes single-origin chocolate that draws on terroir, the character of each growing area. It works with more than 500 cacao farmers and practices fair trade and sustainable sourcing. It has won multiple gold medals at the International Chocolate Awards and is recognized worldwide. In 2024 it built a new factory to support increased production. As a premium brand from Vietnam, it is also an attractive collaboration partner for Japanese food companies.
