Because this is a show for ingredients rather than finished products, the visitors are the research and development and purchasing staff of Indian food manufacturers. Processed food in India is often designed to satisfy vegetarian requirements, shelf life, and price constraints first, and that premise comes through in the exhibits.
For the 20th edition (August 2026, Mumbai), the organizer had announced that it expected more than 400 exhibitors and more than 15,000 visitors. Industry reports after the event put it at more than 350 exhibitors and 1,200 brands. Together with the concurrent ProPak India, you can cover everything from ingredients to packaging in one visit.
For ingredient makers, it is a place to propose materials directly to Indian food manufacturers. Ingredients of Japanese origin such as matcha, kombu dashi, and fermented seasonings can be sold as finished products, but there is also the route of having local manufacturers adopt them in their own products. You can judge which suits your company while watching how counterparts react.
It can also be used from the buying side. You find suppliers of spices, pulses, and dairy ingredients here, then visit their plants later to check their quality control systems.
The next edition moves from Mumbai to Bengaluru. The FAQ on the official website, however, still carries a reference to Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai that appears to be out of date, so confirm the venue with the organizer before you apply.
If you handle ingredients, the treatment of veg marking is a premise for any buyer meeting. Under India's veg marking rules, milk and honey are excluded from being judged non-veg. On the other hand, some items, such as alcoholic drinks and drinking water, are exempt from the marking itself. Sorting out which of these your ingredient falls under before you go makes the discussion move faster.
