Seafood Expo Bharat is a seafood trade show held by MPEDA (the Marine Products Export Development Authority), an agency under India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It began in 2025, and both the 2025 and 2026 editions were held in Chennai. The organizer presents it as an annual event.

Because the organizer is the government body responsible for India's seafood exports, the exhibitors are mainly processing and export companies together with suppliers of processing and packaging machinery, freezing equipment, inspection equipment, and logistics. Shrimp accounts for a large share of India's seafood exports, and that tendency comes through in the makeup of the exhibitors.
India has one other international seafood show, the India International Seafood Show (IISS), held by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI). The 24th edition in 2025 was held in New Delhi as part of World Food India 2025, with MPEDA taking part by running the buyer meetings.
For companies sourcing shrimp and other seafood from India, it is a place to talk directly with export companies that own processing plants. For trade with Japan, the first things to check are the species and the source area, how the chain from the pond to the plant can be traced, whether the plant is approved for export to Japan, how inspection certificates and temperature records during transport are issued, and the minimum lot.
For companies handling freezing or inspection equipment, you can see where India's processing plants are putting their money now. The standards required differ by export destination, and meeting them leads into discussions about equipment.
